The PRS SE Ed Sheeran Hollowbody I Piezo Baritone in Pink Ombre (s/n: CTII014276) is one of those guitars that immediately makes you rethink what a baritone can do.

Designed in collaboration with Ed Sheeran, this 27.7"-scale hollowbody combines the depth and authority of a baritone with traditional PRS electric tones and the acoustic-inspired voice of a PRS/LR Baggs piezo system. PRS describes the SE Ed Sheeran Hollowbody I Piezo Baritone as a guitar built for “songwriters and shredders,” and that gets directly to the point of this instrument.

Its extended 27.7" scale length gives the heavier baritone strings the tension and definition necessary to make lower tunings sound clear and authoritative. PRS ships the guitar with 14-68 strings in B Standard: B-E-A-D-F#-B.

That lower register can completely change the way you approach familiar chord shapes and melodies.

For songwriting, it provides access to different registers and textures without requiring a completely different playing technique. For ambient and clean playing, it creates deep, spacious sounds with exceptional range. Add distortion and the same guitar becomes capable of enormous rhythm tones and highly articulate low-register riffs.

Hollowbody Resonance with Controlled Feedback

The construction is equally interesting.

PRS uses a maple top with flame maple veneer and mahogany back, built around a fully hollow Flatback design with a center block.

That combination allows the guitar to retain the open, resonant character players want from a hollowbody while the center block helps control feedback when volume and gain increase.

It's an especially effective design for a baritone. The hollow construction brings warmth and dimension to the extended low end, while the center block and 27.7" scale help keep everything focused and usable.

PRS 85/15 "S" Humbuckers

For traditional electric-guitar sounds, the SE Ed Sheeran Baritone carries a pair of PRS 85/15 "S" humbuckers.

Known for their balance of clarity and extended high- and low-frequency response, the 85/15 "S" pickups are particularly well suited to a guitar with this much range.

A traditional 3-way toggle switch gives you bridge, bridge-and-neck, and neck pickup combinations, while dedicated controls keep the electric and piezo sides of the instrument intuitive.

PRS/LR Baggs Piezo – A Second Personality

Here's where this guitar becomes much more than a conventional baritone.

Built into the PRS Adjustable Stoptail Piezo bridge is the PRS/LR Baggs piezo system, adding a detailed acoustic-style voice alongside the magnetic pickups.

The guitar provides separate Magnetic Volume and Piezo Volume controls, allowing you to blend the two systems.

That means you can move from a traditional electric sound toward acoustic-like textures—or combine both to create sounds that would normally require multiple instruments.

The piezo volume is active when using the Mix/Piezo output, and the dual-output design also opens possibilities for more advanced stage and studio rigs.

You can route the magnetic pickups toward your electric-guitar amplifier or effects while sending the piezo signal to an acoustic amplifier, PA, interface, or separate effects chain.

For the working musician or studio player, that's an enormous amount of flexibility from one guitar.

Wide Fat Neck & 27.7" Scale

The multi-ply maple neck uses PRS's familiar Wide Fat profile, paired with a rosewood fretboard, 10" radius, and 22 frets.

That substantial neck profile works especially well with the longer baritone scale and heavier strings, giving the instrument a stable, confident feel without turning it into something foreign to a traditional guitarist.

The result is unmistakably a baritone—but it still feels like a PRS.

Pink Ombre

Then there is the finish.

Pink Ombre brings a completely different personality to the traditional PRS Hollowbody silhouette. Applied over a flame maple veneer, the graduated finish allows the figuring underneath to remain part of the visual presentation.

Cream body and neck binding, PRS Bird inlays, nickel hardware, and the Ed Sheeran truss rod cover finish the instrument beautifully.

It's bold without losing the refined character of the Hollowbody design.
