Full Acoustic Drum Sets for Sale on Reverb

Though one of the major appeals of a drum set for many players is its modularity—the ability to mix brands and model styles, add and subtract pieces of your drum set at will, and upgrade as you evolve as a player—you have to get started somewhere. And often, the easiest way to get started on the drums is by picking up a full drum set in one fell swoop. Here on Reverb, we've got you covered with tons of great full acoustic kit options.

A Brief History of the Drum Set

Drum sets (or, drum kits) evolved in the early 20th century, as players from a variety of genres began piecing together various drums and cymbals into configurations that could be played all at once. As the popularity of jazz grew in the '20s and '30s, a more standardized set began to take form with bass drums, snare drums, and hi-hat cymbals forming the backbone of many recordings and ensembles.

Since then, the drum set has been absolutely central to the evolution of popular music of all forms. Major brands like Ludwig and Slingerland helped define the sound of the '50s and '60s, while rock favorites like Pearl, Tama and DW continued to refine the format through the '80s and '90s. Whether you're looking for a vintage Gretsch or a modern boutique C&C kit, you can be sure to find the world's best selection of drum sets here on Reverb.
