The Fender American Professional Hot Shot Telecaster Maple in Butterscotch Blonde marks a fresh chapter in Fender's modern professional lineup. You've seen the original American Professional, the American Professional II, and the American Professional Classic. This refreshed American Professional Series makes for a more versatile guitar than your standard Tele by placing a Stratocaster single-coil between the traditional Tele neck and bridge pickups. Five-way switching opens up both classic Tele sounds and glassier Strat-inspired combinations, while the new top-load/string-through bridge with compensated brass saddles adds improved intonation and setup flexibility. Butterscotch Blonde over an Ash body, a one-ply black pickguard, and a maple fingerboard give this version one of the most traditional looks in the lineup despite its expanded electronics.

The ash body is paired with a Deep "C" maple neck featuring rolled fingerboard edges, a 9.5" radius, and Fender's "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish for a comfortable feel across long gigs and sessions. A sculpted neck heel makes the upper register easier to reach, while 22 narrow tall frets provide plenty of room for bends and articulate lead work. V-Mod III Telecaster pickups in the bridge and neck deliver the snap, bite, and clarity that define the platform, while the V-Mod III Strat middle pickup and five-way switch add useful middle and combination tones without changing the straightforward feel of the instrument.

The three-saddle top-load/string-through bridge allows players to experiment with string feel and response, while ClassicGear compensated brass Bullet saddles provide improved intonation without abandoning classic Tele bridge character. Fender staggered sealed tuners, a bone nut, and Micro-Tilt neck adjustment make the guitar straightforward to keep dialed in for regular use. We think the Butterscotch Blonde Hot Shot is a particularly cool combination, it looks immediately familiar, but its three-pickup layout gives working players substantially more ground to cover than a conventional Tele.
