Comfort-focused Sonic Contouring Tailored for Tenacious Tones - Throughout the tenure of the Ibanez SR Standard series, the company sought to blend tour-grade performance and endurance with the flexibility any serious player needs, regardless of playing style. With the Ibanez Standard SR505N, Sweetwater’s bassists agree: Ibanez has succeeded. The bass’s celebrated SR5 profile is crafted from a 5-piece walnut and roasted maple neck, offering best-in-class playability, full 24-fret accessibility, and effortless speed, all with an eye for accuracy. Additionally, the okoume body is meticulously balanced and contoured to provide comfort for hours of playing, on and off the stage. Sonically, when you need to deliver earthshaking lows and crystal-clear highs, the Ibanez Standard SR505N's brace of Big Break pickups and custom Ibanez 3-band EQ deliver heaps of on-tap sound shaping. Finished with a premium hardware selection, including an MR5S bridge and Ibanez-crafted tuners, the Standard SR500N provides the structural stability and sonic prowess modern bassists demand.

Built for enduring performances and ergonomic support - The Soundgear series from Ibanez offers players a sleek alternative to the traditional bass designs that have been around for half a century. The Standard SR505N's contoured okoume body provides a warm, woody tone, and the fast neck is built to give players in any genre a comfortable playing experience that refuses to compromise tactility or precision. And the SR Standard is lightweight, which means you'll enjoy the gig more, play better, and dodge day-after aches.

Engineered for speed and precision - For the SR Standard, Ibanez spec’d its supremely playable SR5 5-piece roasted maple/walnut neck. This time-honored profile is optimized for laser-focused expression and exceptional versatility, offering effortless mobility up and down the fingerboard with unfettered upper-fret access. The nut width is thinner than what you'll find on most bass necks, which further aids the comfort factor. The addition of a rosewood fingerboard sonically and visually complements the neck and body woods, augmenting the balanced okoume foundation and the multi-tonewood neck’s brightness, clarity, and harmonic depth with a crystalline presence that remains distinct.

Nordstrand-fueled bass crafting via Big Break pickups - To give the Standard SR505N its powerful sonic foundation, Ibanez equipped it with a pair of Nordstrand Big Break pickups. A split-coil in a soapbox casing, the Big Break pickups from Nordstrand deliver full-bodied tone, distinct clarity, and noiseless performance. In addition, you have the potent sound-shaping capabilities of Ibanez’s Custom Electronics 3-band EQ. The EQ gives you control over boost/cut for bass, mid, and high frequencies, plus a mid-frequency switch to fine-tune your midrange and an EQ bypass. Fingers, thumb, or pick — and no matter what tonal texture your music calls for — this instrument’s superb electronics will get you there fast.
