Greco Les Paul EG600 1976 Cherryburst
Interesting mid-1970s Japanese take on the Les Paul. It plays well and sounds pretty impressive. From the serial number, this guitar was made at the Greco Fujigen factory in November 1976 within the period that sparked the Gibson "lawsuit" era.
This particular guitar has chambered two-piece "pancake" construction. Therefore it is somewhat lighter than a comparable solid Les Paul. It has a set neck with the "open book" headstock shape and high-end features such as rosewood finger board, fret edge-binding, Custom Speed knobs and Custom style tuners. I believe the guitar retains the original factory-fitted Maxon pickups and Greco electrics, which give it .
This is a vintage guitar and has been well-used in the 50 years since being manufactured. Consequently there are numerous dings, chips and knocks in various places in the guitar, so please check the photos to get an idea of the condition. It appears that at some point the guitar has taken a fall and at the very least, the neck has developed a crack, just below the headstock. However, this appears to have been subject to a competent luthier repair which is stable and without issue in what is a highly playable instrument.
