The J-45 is the best-selling acoustic in Gibson's history. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic guitar has become the cornerstone of Gibson's round-shoulder dreadnought line. World-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection, the J-45 has long been a favorite for players across genres.
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J-45 Standard has been refined to carry this legacy further. It delivers a sound with incredible dynamic range, warm mids, and a tight, punchy bass--faithfully honoring the tonal character that made the J-45 a classic.
Crafted from all solid woods, the J-45 Standard features solid mahogany back and sides paired with a solid spruce top, the timeless tonewood combination that has defined the J-45 for generations. The one-piece mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded C profile and is topped with a rosewood fretboard, equipped with 20 frets and understated mother-of-pearl dot inlays.
The headstock sports the iconic 60s-style Kalamazoo shape, fitted with a bone nut and smooth Grover Rotomatic tuners for reliable tuning stability. A rosewood belly-up bridge with a bone saddle and ivory bridge pins adds to the guitar's tonal richness and sustain. Completing the classic look, the redesigned epoxy-style pickguard features the traditional tortoise teardrop shape.
For today's performers, the J-45 Standard comes equipped with a Fishman Presys VT under-saddle pickup and preamp system. Discreetly mounted volume and tone controls inside the soundhole are easy for the player to access while remaining virtually invisible to the audience.
A premium Epiphone gig bag is included, making the J-45 Standard stage- and studio-ready from the moment you bring it home. For decades, countless players have embraced the legendary J-45. Isn't it time you put The Workhorse to work for you?
