In the 1980s, Fender introduced the "Bullet" series as a new beginner model. The guitar was initially released with a small Telecaster shape and rosewood fretboard, but later the model was changed to a small Stratocaster shape with a maple neck.

This is the 'Bullet S-2', shipped around 1983, a Stratocaster-shaped version equipped with two single-coil pickups.

The controls consist of a 3-way pickup selector, master volume, and master tone. It is equipped with two custom single-coil pickups. The pickups and control components are in their original condition.

The sound is characterized by a slightly dry tone with sharp, edgy mid-to-high frequencies. Rather than the sparkling quality of a Stratocaster, it has a tighter, punchier attack. Despite its minimalist electronics, it boasts a practical sound range that goes beyond that of an entry-level model.
