Very cool and unique 1960s Eko Model 100 archtop that was tastefully and professionally converted in the 1970s into a true electric hollow body player.
This guitar started life as a basic Model 100 archtop, but was upgraded with a 3-pickup electric setup using vintage, period-correct parts from the 1960s/1970s. It features three pickups, three individual pickup on/off switches, volume, tone, and an additional toggle that appears to function as an on/off switch. I am not sure of the exact pickup manufacturer or the maker of the tremolo/bridge assembly, so please review all photos carefully. Everything is pictured for your review.
As with any vintage guitar, you will find average flaws from use and age. Flaws will consist of finish checking, nicks, dings, scratches and chips, but nothing unusual and no signs of abuse.
The guitar is currently set up great with low action and has been freshly strung. It plays great over the entire fingerboard without issue. The truss rod works properly, and there is plenty of room for adjustment at the bridge. Although this guitar is currently set up great, everyone has their own personal preferences. If any setup changes, string changes, or adjustments are desired, they will be the buyer’s responsibility and cost.
If you are looking for something very cool, inexpensive, oddball, vintage, and one-of-a-kind, this Eko Hot Rod conversion is definitely worth checking out.
