Gretsch 6122 USA Chet Atkins Country Gentleman 1967 w/ OHSC
Condition: Very Good
The 1967 Gretsch 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman is a highly sought-after vintage hollow-body electric guitar, often associated with George Harrison's work with The Beatles. Produced during the late 1960s, this model is recognized for its refined, dark walnut finish, double-cutaway design, and distinctive electronics.
- Body: 17-inch wide hollow body with laminated maple construction, featuring simulated F-holes (painted on) to reduce feedback.
- Finish: Walnut stain (sometimes referred to as Walnut Brown).
- Neck: Maple neck with an ebony fingerboard, with thumbnail inlays.
- Pickups: Dual Filter'Tron pickups, known for providing a bright, articulate, and "twangy" tone.
- Hardware: Gold-plated hardware, including a Bigsby B6GVT vibrato tailpiece and Grover Imperial tuners.
- Electronics: Complex control layout featuring a master volume, individual pickup volumes, a 3-way pickup selector, a 3-way tone switch, and a standby switch.
- Bridge: Rocking bar bridge.
The gold has started to fade off on most of the hardware. There is checking in many places throughout the instrument which is typical of a guitar this age. Some of the binding shows cracks and discoloration. Overall this is a classic vintage guitar in very good condition. The electronic configuration is a little bit complex so we are including a reference sheet in the original case.
