1980's - 1990's Fernandes Burny VH-3 Humbucker - Black With Gold Pole Screws - 8.30K Ohm - Ceramic Magnet - Made in Japan MIJ

Used single Fernandes Burny VH-3 (I think) humbucker, black with gold pole screws humbuckers - Made in Japan MIJ.

I bought this pickup from Japan, not in a guitar, so I can't say for certain what guitar it was removed from, or how old it is.

Because of that, I also don't know for certain that this is a Burny/Fernandes VH-3 humbucker - I'm basing this on the way it looks, the pole screw shape, the baseplate colour and shape, the DC resistance, and the grey lead wire - but it's possible it's something else. You can use your judgement based on the photos and specs.

This one uses a standard thickness ceramic magnet. It has gold pole screws, so it likely came from a Burny RLC or RSG custom model, or something similar.

From other Burny guitars I have owned from around 1988 that had VH-3 pickups, this one looks and sounds the same - brass baseplates, grey lead wires, long legs, ~8.3k range pickups.

The DC resistance measures 8.30K ohms.

The lead wire is about 12.5" long.

The pole spacing is about 50mm.

The pickup is in good player grade shape. The covered Burny humbuckers from this era had double sided tape attached (from the factory) between the face of the bobbins and the inside of the cover - and there is still a "haze" or "ghost" of that tape on top of the bobbins. There s also a sticker residue on the baseplate. There are also some typical scratches and small cracks in the bobbins, as well as tarnish, corrosion, pitting, peeling and/or rust on the gold plated pole screws.
