A few years ago, South Korean company Sire approached bass icon Marcus Miller and proposed a collaboration on high-quality but affordable instruments. The rest is an almost unparalleled success story! Inspired by this, Sire began to consider catering to bassists who prefer something a little more refined and are willing to spend a little more. The V9 was the first result of this endeavor, offering several upgrades over the “standard” V7. The V10 takes things up a notch in several areas!

And this Sire Marcus Miller V10-5 Fretless Bass is the best proof of that: a sophisticated evolution of the Fender Jazz Bass, it comes with a beautifully grained swamp ash body and a one-piece roasted maple neck in traditional bolt-on construction. As a special extra, the V10-5 has a beautifully grained flamed maple top, which complements the wildly flamed roasted maple fingerboard and gold hardware perfectly.

Thanks to the tonewood selection, the instrument resonates acoustically from the very first note, and once you plug in the bass, it takes a moment to recover from the sheer charge of dynamic, wiry MWAH low end. This is ensured by two top-of-the-line Sire Marcus Premium J-Revolution singlecoil pickups, which give the bass a warm tone with great clarity and intense, direct response. A mini switch allows you to choose between active and passive mode, and an active Marcus Heritage-3 preamp allows you to fine-tune the signal for a wide range of tones.
