The Electro-Harmonix Nano Small Stone Phase Shifter is a compact analog modulation pedal that gives your guitar a swirling, moving, almost liquid-like sound. Rather than adding distortion or sustain, it changes the way certain frequencies are emphasized and cancelled over time, creating the distinctive sweeping effect known as phasing.

It's particularly well suited to psychedelic rock, classic rock, funk, ambient textures, and adding movement to clean or overdriven guitar tones.

What does it sound like?

• Subtle shimmer: At slower settings, it adds gentle movement and depth to clean guitar parts.
• Swirling, psychedelic sweep: Turn up the Rate control for a more obvious, whooshing sound.
• Thick, chewy modulation: With overdrive or distortion, it creates a rich, swirling texture for riffs and solos.
• Vintage character: Its analog circuitry produces the familiar, organic phaser sound heard in classic rock recordings.
• Distinctive resonance: As the phase sweep moves through the signal, certain frequencies seem to rise and fall, making the guitar sound as if it's moving or breathing.

The effect works with both clean and distorted tones, but it is especially recognizable on sustained notes, repetitive riffs, and funky rhythmic playing.
