The Bass VI was originally released between 1961 and 1975.

In recent years, it has become more accessible, with Squier also releasing a similar model.

It features a 30-inch scale length, unlike the standard 34-inch scale used by JB and PB basses.

The tuning is one octave lower than a guitar.

The body is made of alder.

The neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.

The pickup is a Vintage-Style Early '60s Bass VI Single-Coil.

It produces a thick, bass-like low end, while also being suitable for chord work in a range closer to that of a guitar.
