It brought together a wealth of innovative features, including a short 24-inch scale, original Jaguar single-coil pickups with metal pole-piece shielding claws, the distinctive Jaguar switching system, and Fender's string mute.

This example comes in Ice Blue Metallic (IBM), a beautiful metallic blue that gives the classic Jaguar design a little extra attitude. While Sunburst and Olympic White are familiar Jaguar finishes, this striking blue adds a playful, rebellious edge to its vintage styling. The combination of the rosewood fingerboard, chrome hardware, and white pickguard looks particularly sharp against the metallic blue body.

Ice Blue Metallic was offered on this model during the 2001–2009 period, making this 2009 example one of the final-year guitars in this finish.

The Jaguar's short scale gives it a distinctive playing feel and string response compared with a Stratocaster or Telecaster. Sonically, it is known for its bright, cutting attack and sharply defined tone, with plenty of that unmistakable Jaguar bite.

A key part of this character comes from its two original-style Jaguar single-coil pickups, each fitted with a metal shielding claw around the pole pieces. The claws help shield the pickups from electrical interference while also influencing their magnetic field and tonal response. Together, these design features contribute to the Jaguar's crisp, edgy voice.

Another highlight is the Jaguar's versatile dual-circuit control system. The Rhythm Circuit provides independent volume and tone controls for the neck pickup, allowing you to switch instantly from the brighter Lead Circuit to a warmer, more mellow neck tone. From clean, snappy rhythm playing to crunchy riffs and sharp-edged rock sounds, the Jaguar offers a surprisingly wide range of tonal possibilities.

The tuners have been upgraded to GOTOH Magnum Lock SD91 HAP-M locking tuners, offering convenient string changes and improved tuning stability.

With its distinctive string feel, bright attack, and versatile switching system, this Jaguar is equally at home with surf music, garage rock, indie, and alternative styles.
