The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Firebird
When Gibson introduced the Firebird in 1963, nothing else looked like it. Famed automotive designer Ray Dietrich drew its reverse body and headstock, which gave the guitar a sleek, forward-leaning look straight out of Detroit's golden age of car design. The Firebird was also Gibson's first neck-through-body guitar, and it had a voice as distinctive as its shape. Epiphone's Inspired by Gibson Firebird brings that design back, refreshed with pickups built to original '60s specifications and premium hardware. On stage or in the garage, its radical shape and powerful sound make it a true rock 'n' roll icon.

Neck-Through Construction
At the heart of the Firebird is a traditional 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through-body design, with mahogany wings forming the rest of the body. Because the neck runs the full length of the guitar, the tuners, pickups, bridge, and tailpiece all mount on the same pieces of wood. That gives exceptional resonance, rich, warm tonality, and incredible sustain. The neck is carved to a SlimTaper C profile for fast, effortless playing. It's topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays. The 24.75" scale length and 1.69" nut width give it a comfortable, familiar Gibson-style feel.
ProBucker FB720 Firebird Pickups
The refreshed Firebird has a set of ProBucker FB720 Firebird pickups with Alnico 2 magnets. They're made to the original specifications of 1960s Gibson Firebird pickups and wired to high-quality CTS potentiometers, recapturing the bright, cutting, hum-free voice the Firebird is famous for. They look similar to mini humbuckers but are built very differently. Mini humbuckers use Patent Applied For-style construction, with pole pieces in the coils and a magnet beneath them. Firebird pickups have no pole pieces and use two blade magnets positioned inside the coils themselves, along with a steel reflector plate. The result is a sound unlike any other humbucking design, with sparkle, bite, and clarity that cuts through a mix.
Premium Hardware and Classic Details
The Firebird is fitted with Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece for solid string anchoring and easy string changes. Grover Mini Rotomatic six-in-line tuners on the reverse headstock and a Graph Tech nut keep tuning stable, even with aggressive playing. Gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors and nickel hardware complete the vintage look. The pickguard has the iconic Firebird logo hot-stamped in red. A premium gig bag is included for grab-and-go convenience and protection.
