The Taylor 14ce puts a full-size Grand Auditorium body and onboard electronics within reach at the most accessible price point in Taylor's cutaway acoustic-electric lineup, built for players who want stage-ready output without stepping up to the 200 Series and its Expression System 2 pickup.

A solid torrefied spruce top gives the 14ce an already-broken-in voice, with the extra headroom and dynamic range torrefaction adds over an untreated top. Layered sapele back and sides push the midrange forward and tighten up the low end compared to rosewood or walnut, similar to mahogany but with a touch more punch and less overtone complexity — a voice that stays articulate whether it's driven hard with a flatpick or worked quietly with fingerstyle. Taylor's C-Class bracing adds sustain and low-end presence on top of that, so single notes ring a beat longer than the body size alone would suggest.

Where the 14ce sets itself apart from nearly every other Taylor in the catalog is its electronics: instead of Taylor's own Expression System or ES-B pickup, this model ships with a Fishman Presys VT preamp, a proven third-party system with onboard EQ and a built-in tuner that plugs straight into a PA or acoustic amp without coloring the guitar's natural voice. Appointments stay clean and functional — a West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard and bridge, tortoise pickguard, black hardware, and a matte top and back finish. For a player who wants a stage-capable Grand Auditorium at the most accessible price point in Taylor's electronics-equipped lineup, the 14ce is built exactly for that job.
