Punchy attack and a sound with a solid core
White Ash was widely used for Fender guitars until the mid-1950s, characterized by a strong attack and rapid note response. Because it is a relatively hard wood that is difficult to work with, it has seen less use in musical instruments in recent years. However, it is a material that offers an excellent balance of hardness and elasticity—qualities that make it a popular choice for baseball bats.
To infuse this ash wood with a "matured" character, the shell combines two types of poplar and is finished using Canopus's proprietary edge-processing technology. The resulting sound is dry with short sustain and a taut low end; it delivers a "vintage-style" tone—dry and articulate—that creates the illusion of an instrument played for years.
Furthermore, while the wood is dense and hard, it features large pores, creating a beautiful, pronounced grain pattern when stained.
