The Special exists because Gibson figured out most players just want a Hummingbird that sounds like a Hummingbird — they don't need the gloss coat or the mother-of-pearl pickguard to get there. Solid Sitka top, solid mahogany back and sides, scalloped X-bracing, built in Bozeman on February 17, 2025.

Satin nitro instead of gloss is really the only corner cut here, and it's not much of a corner honestly. Prettiest guitar on the rack. You still get the round-profile neck, compound dovetail joint, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and an LR Baggs Element Bronze pickup with volume and tone right at the soundhole — plug in and go, no separate preamp to babysit.

This one's about as good as used gets: looks factory-fresh, plays great, next to no fret wear.

If the Original series Hummingbird's price tag has been the holdup, this is the workaround. Same recipe, same voice, already broken in. Setup and intonation checked before it ships.

This is a USED instrument in EXCELLENT condition.
