Overview

Stella was a brand operated by Oscar Schmidt with roots going back to 1899. Affordable small-bodied Stella guitars were distributed throughout rural America and are often associated with early blues players. In 1939, Harmony acquired the Stella name and continued to use the brand as their low end in the '50s and 60s. Guitars from this era usually have very high action rendering them somewhat difficult to play.

Years of Production: 1950s and '60s

Design Elements: White pickguard, dot inlays, trapeze tailpiece
