1994 Orville Les Paul Standard LPS, Made in Japan - Cherry Sunburst

A beautiful mid-’90s Orville Les Paul Standard in classic Cherry Sunburst, made in Japan during one of the most respected periods of Japanese guitar production. These Orvilles have earned a great reputation for capturing the traditional Les Paul feel, construction, and tone, and this one is a great example with over 30 years of natural character.

The guitar is in very good condition for its age. There are several light scratches, small dings, and a few minor finish chips throughout, all consistent with normal use on a guitar from 1994. Everything is shown clearly in the photos. Despite the cosmetic wear, it feels surprisingly clean in hand and presents very well overall. The neck is straight and has no cracks or previous repairs.

The pickups and electronics appear to be original, retaining the guitar’s classic character. Tonally, it delivers exactly what you want from a traditional Les Paul: warm and full through the neck pickup, with plenty of body and sustain, while the bridge has a strong midrange bite, clarity, and punch. The middle position gives a great balance of warmth and definition.

The frets are in good condition, showing even wear with no significant deep grooves or dead spots and plenty of usable life remaining. They have been cleaned and polished to a mirror shine, giving the guitar a smooth, comfortable playing feel.

Overall, this is a great example of a ’90s Japanese Orville - nicely aged, clean where it matters, and with the broken-in feel of an instrument that has been around long enough to develop some real character.

Includes a vintage leather gig bag.

The following work has been done: full fretboard conditioning with lemon oil, fret polish, pickup height adjustment for balance and clarity, and a fresh set of D’Addario 10-46s installed. String height at the 12th fret on the low E is right at 2.2 mm - set for comfortable playability.
