Here is a really nice late 1960s Gibson ES-345 in all-original condition. This one features the classic Cherry Red finish, Varitone stereo electronics, and all the appointments that make these guitars so unique.
This guitar is equipped with its original Patent Number Sticker humbuckers, and they sound excellent. The original frets still have plenty of life left, and the guitar plays and sounds great. It has a one-piece neck, which is notable because the following year Gibson started transitioning to three-piece necks on many of these models.
The guitar is 100% original including the double line Kluson tuners, gold hardware, matching orange label, witch hat knobs, and original pickguard with the Gibson logo. As is common with these, the pickguard logo has worn down over the years.
The condition is very good overall. It has plenty of vintage character with finish checking throughout and some light wear here and there, but it remains a very clean and honest example. There are no breaks or repairs anywhere.
The current bridge is a newer replacement, but the original bridge is included in the case. If desired, we can reinstall the original bridge prior to shipping, although the nylon saddles are not always as stable as the metal saddles.
It comes complete with the original Gibson-badged hardshell case with unusual blue lining. The case is missing the handle but is still a great original accessory.
The Details- Condition: Very Good
- Originality: 100% Original Except Bridge (Original Included)
- Finish: Original Cherry Red
- Notes: One-piece neck; Patent Number Sticker humbuckers; Varitone stereo; no breaks or repairs
This is a great-playing vintage ES-345 with the classic late-'60s Gibson semi-hollow sound. The Patent Number Sticker humbuckers have plenty of clarity and warmth, and the Varitone circuit gives you a wide range of tonal options. The neck feels comfortable, the frets have plenty of life, and it is a very enjoyable example of one of Gibson's most iconic semi-hollow models.
