Based on the photos, I’d list the condition as Very Good. The bass presents nicely overall, but there are enough small dings, impressions, and surface marks that I would not push it into Excellent.

Reverb title

Fender Deluxe Active Precision Bass Special MIM PJ Pearl White / Gold Pickguard

Description

Fender Made in Mexico Deluxe Active Precision Bass Special with a P/J pickup configuration and active electronics. Finished in a great-looking pearl white with a gold pickguard, rosewood fingerboard, and maple neck.

This is a versatile bass that combines the fullness and punch of a traditional Precision pickup with the additional definition of a Jazz bridge pickup. The active electronics give you plenty of control over the sound and make it easy to move from a more traditional P-bass tone into brighter, more modern sounds.

Features include the Fender P/J pickup configuration, active preamp, Badass Bass II bridge, rosewood fingerboard, maple neck, and Fender/Schaller-style tuners. Serial number MZ8075837 indicates Mexican production from the November 2008.

Condition

Very good overall condition with normal signs of use. The pearl finish still presents extremely well and the hardware is clean. There are several small dings, impressions and light scratches around the body, including some more noticeable marks along the side/edge of the body and near the neck pocket. There is also light cosmetic wear on the headstock and hardware.

I have tried to photograph the more noticeable areas clearly. Nothing shown appears structural, and the neck joint looks sound from the photos. Overall, it is a clean player with cosmetic wear consistent with a used instrument of its age.

Electronics and controls function as intended. The bass is currently strung with rotosound swing 66 roundwounds.

A particularly nice example of the MIM Deluxe Active P Bass Special and a good option for someone looking for a P-bass platform with more tonal flexibility and upgraded hardware.
