Baggs Anthem SL (new retail price: 58,300 JPY), making it ready for immediate professional use. The "Modern Deluxe" series offers a more brilliant, vibrant sound than the standard 000-28. We invite you to try it out!

[000-28 Modern Deluxe]
Martin's "Modern Deluxe" series represents a new era of acoustic guitars, fusing vintage-style aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. While honoring tradition, the series pursues superior playability and acoustic performance, making it an ideal choice for players seeking nuanced expression and excellent tonal projection.

The 000-28 Modern Deluxe takes the standard 000-28 as its foundation and refines every aspect—appearance, construction, and sound. It features premium, vintage-inspired appointments such as gold Waverly "butterbean" tuners, shell inlays for the headstock logo and "Square & Diamond" fretboard markers, a gloss-finish headstock overlay, and rosewood herringbone binding. Meanwhile, the subtly tinted VTS-treated Sitka spruce top lends a refined atmosphere to the instrument, creating an alluring look that blends elegance with a touch of understated sophistication.

The top features Sitka spruce treated with the VTS (Vintage Tone System)—a process also used in the Authentic Series. This heat treatment replicates the wood characteristics of a vintage guitar that has been played for decades, delivering a dry, rich resonance and excellent responsiveness right out of the box. Furthermore, the active incorporation of modern technologies—such as a carbon-fiber bridge plate, a lightweight AJ truss rod, and Liquidmetal bridge pins—elevates responsiveness, harmonics, and volume to a new level.

The 000-28 is a model with a rich history dating back to 1902; it debuted with a body size slightly larger than the "0" and "00" sizes that were dominant at the time. Although production numbers once dropped significantly due to the rising popularity of the Dreadnought, the model saw a resurgence following Eric Clapton's 1992 "MTV Unplugged" performance and is now one of Martin's most iconic and popular models. Its comfortable body shape, manageable string tension (thanks to the short scale), and clear, transparent mid-to-high range tones have earned it a loyal following among a wide range of players, from fingerstyle enthusiasts to strummers.

In terms of sound, it offers superior note separation across the frequency spectrum compared to the standard 000-28, with particularly impressive projection and clarity in the mid-to-high ranges. Rich harmonics generate volume and depth that belie its compact body size, while a well-defined low end provides solid structural support, resulting in a beautifully balanced tone. Additionally, the use of a lightweight AJ neck rod allows the entire neck to resonate efficiently, creating a playing experience where the body and neck vibrate in unison as a single, cohesive instrument.

The 000-28 Modern Deluxe: a model that honors the storied tradition of the 000-28 while evolving through the application of modern technology. Combining the allure of vintage Martin guitars with the high level of craftsmanship found in modern design, this instrument truly embodies a new era.
