Up for sale is a holy grail find for vintage gear collectors and tone-chasers alike: a 100% Brand New, Roland VG-8 V-Guitar System (Original 1995 Made in Japan model) that contains the highly sought after Very EFX and Stay pad/ V guitar sounds. This is not "Mint" or "Open Box"—it is true New Old Stock (NOS). The original factory boxed contents are fully intact: I am the original owner, and opened the box only to show/inspect, please see the images as it shows everything, still in its original factory wrappings. With the massive resurgence of the iconic VG-8 (becoming the definitive, signature sound of artists like Mk.gee), standard used units are being heavily gigged and worn out. Finding an untouched, brand-new unit with pristine AD/DA converters, a flawless scratch-free screen, and completely unused tactile buttons is practically impossible. Back then, I had a major health issue strike and multiple surgeries that put the stop on my music carrier, and so the box remained sitting with my other gear, in a temperature-controlled, smoke-free environment since the mid-1990s.
TECHNICAL NOTE FOR COLLECTORS & BUYERS: Because this unit has remained new/unused for approximately 30 years, the internal CR2032 memory backup battery on the motherboard has likely drained over time. The unit is guaranteed to power up and function perfectly out of the box, but you may see a "Low Battery" warning and need to replace the internal battery if you want to save user-customized presets. To preserve the massive collector value, I will NOT open anything to change the battery. It is sold strictly brand-new, as-is.
Shipping & Terms: Due to the extremely rare nature and high value of this item, it will be packaged with professional-grade double-boxing and bubble wrap. - Ships fully insured with adult signature confirmation required upon delivery.
Don't miss your chance to own the absolute cleanest, untouched piece of V-Guitar history still out there!
Seller personal note: Hi my fellow musicians, Gary here. You know, it just occurred to me… I'm getting a lot of looks on this thing, but not a lot of inquiries. And then it hit me: you may have looked at my seller profile and realized I don't really have one yet. Well, I have to admit, for Reverb, this is true. Back in the 90s after multiple surgeries, I had to stop my music career, where almost all of my gear was put into controlled storage (underneath my parents' stairs, solid choice.) I thought over the years about updating my systems, or selling some pieces here and there, but it just never happened until now. All these years, still repairing my body, transplants, rotator cuff injuries, all still staying healthy in a body full of scars. Back when my studio was active, I had a small system, a 32 channel ghost, running Tascam, DA-88's, and owned a complete guitar touring rig (was semi-pro for hire) where I ended up buying more guitars for their particular tone, as my career was heading towards producing. All that stopped. Instead of selling the gear, I just shelved it. Initially, I ended up doing online sales just to make ends meet, not instruments though, I just went into secondary sales via eBay. So when it actually came to my putting up this add, it did not even occur to me until this evening that to you, here on Reverb, I look like a really good piece of gear with a seller that has no feedback. No wonder I'm not hearing a lot of chatter. So you know, I've been doing online sales for over 25 years., Where I've done everything from sports cards in the Jordan-era, I then ran a Columbia sportswear outlet for 2 years, I was a power seller on eBay when they still had such a thing, now I'm just a part-time seller with 100% feedback, I have a +2500 rating, so I am a pro seller, I ship next day, everything ships well protected, I don't mess around. So, I just wanted to let you know this because I can't just say "go look at my eBay account and see my feedback", I thought I should at least put forth this brief, so you actually know a Little bit about me, and if you are interested in purchasing this VG-8, I hope this note will help you to feel a bit more comfortable, but also, I invite you to please message me and ask anything further that you wish. I strive for transparency with all of my online sales, and would be glad to discuss more with you. All right thank you very much. And yes I still have the guitars. I will be selling my other gear here shortly. The Ghost is gone, though.
