For sale is an original late-1970s DiMarzio Super Distortion (DP100) humbucker, made in the USA.
Features:
- Original double cream bobbins
- Brass baseplate
- Square mounting tabs
- 4-conductor lead
- Stamped “DiMarzio Pickups – Made in U.S.A.” baseplate
- Original pole pieces and hardware
This pickup dates to approximately 1978–1979 based on its construction and markings. It is one of the desirable early Super Distortions that helped define the sound of late-’70s and early-’80s rock.
The pickup shows normal cosmetic wear and patina consistent with its age but remains in very good vintage condition. Please review the photos carefully for the exact condition.
The cables were professionally soldered to a 4 way shielded cable of approximately 3ft/1m to enable coil tap and series/parallel options.
A great piece for collectors or anyone restoring a vintage guitar or chasing the classic DiMarzio Super Distortion tone.
