Sirenotron — Handmade Dub Siren

Sirenotron is a handmade analog dub siren built by Jakub Krysakowski (Illegal State of Mind).

It is housed in a hand-painted aluminium enclosure finished in several shades of green. The instrument is designed for classic dub siren sounds, pitch sweeps, pulsing modulations and more experimental, chaotic effects.

Features

• One square-wave oscillator
• Built-in LFO controlling the oscillator pitch
• Triangle and square LFO waveforms
• Additional Acid Mode, which turns the square-wave modulation into a more aggressive and unpredictable sound
• Signal can be triggered using the built-in switch or an external momentary switch, such as a footswitch
• Handmade aluminium chassis
• Hand-painted finish in various shades of green

Controls

• Tone — cuts high frequencies for a darker sound
• Volume — controls the output level
• LFO Rate — controls the modulation speed
• Pitch — controls the oscillator frequency
• LFO Waveform — three-position switch: triangle / off / square
• Acid Mode — enables the more chaotic square-wave modulation mode
• Signal On/Off — activates the siren sound

LED Indicators

• Green — indicates the LFO speed
• Yellow — indicates that the signal is active
• Red — power indicator

Connections

• Power: 9V DC, centre-negative, Boss-style power supply
• Output: 6.3 mm mono jack
• External Switch: 6.3 mm mono jack
