ESP is one of the brands that helped shape the history of the modern electric guitar. Renowned for its exceptional build quality and long-standing collaborations with some of metal's greatest artists, the Japanese manufacturer has earned the trust of generations of demanding players. Among its most iconic signature artists is Alexi Laiho, the legendary frontman of Children of Bodom, whose blistering technique, razor-sharp precision, and unforgettable melodies inspired thousands of guitarists around the world. This 20th Anniversary Special Edition celebrates two decades of collaboration between ESP and Alexi Laiho by revisiting one of his most iconic signature models in a truly outstanding commemorative edition.

The black finish accented with striking yellow bevels faithfully recreates the visual identity of Alexi's original signature guitars, while the exclusive inlays, gold hardware, and COBHC logo on the back immediately evoke the unmistakable style of the Finnish guitar hero. This is an instrument with real personality—one that commands attention wherever it goes.

Build quality is exactly what you would expect from ESP. The neck-thru construction delivers outstanding sustain, exceptional stability, and completely unrestricted upper-fret access. The satin-finished three-piece maple neck features the fast and comfortable Thin U profile, making it effortless to play even during the most demanding passages. The Macassar ebony fingerboard offers a premium feel, while the scalloped upper six frets faithfully reproduce one of Alexi Laiho's signature features, allowing for wider bends, greater control, and an even more expressive vibrato.

The Floyd Rose 1000 inspires confidence from the very first dive bomb, offering excellent tuning stability even under the most aggressive use. Grover tuners complete this rock-solid hardware package. The EMG HZ FH-2 bridge pickup delivers a powerful, articulate, and highly defined tone. Its passive design provides greater dynamics than a traditional active EMG while maintaining exceptional clarity under high gain. The single bridge pickup and lone volume control perfectly reflect Alexi's philosophy: eliminate everything unnecessary and focus entirely on performance.

This Arrowhead excels across every branch of modern metal, from classic heavy metal to melodic death metal, thrash, and shred. The attack is razor-sharp, palm-muted riffs hit with authority, pinch harmonics leap effortlessly from the strings, and solos flow with remarkable ease thanks to the fast neck and scalloped upper frets. Despite its uncompromising metal DNA, the guitar retains enough clarity and dynamic response to perform equally well in any style that demands precision, articulation, and cutting tone.

This anniversary edition goes far beyond paying visual tribute to Alexi Laiho. It faithfully captures the spirit of his legendary stage instruments while offering flawless modern craftsmanship, ready for both the studio and the stage. Combining spectacular looks, exceptional playability, outstanding build quality, and an unmistakable sonic character, this guitar stands among the finest signature models ESP has produced in recent years. A fitting tribute to a musician whose influence continues to inspire generations of guitarists—and a formidable instrument that will appeal equally to collectors and players seeking a true metal machine.
