Up for grabs is a used (with less than light average wear) vintage late 1970s-1980s Ernie Ball 6160 250k Mono Volume Pedal (passive). AMP / INST Jacks are on right side. Also called "Original Volume Pedal" amd/ or "Original" Ernie Ball Volume Pedal). 250K pot, MONO, Passive. Overall the pedal works fine - the pot is very slightly scratchy.
- NOTE: Many years later later Ernie Ball redesigned this model Volume pedal to have the jacks in front. I believe the redesigned model # is / was called 6166.
It probably from 1980s. The IN / OUT jacks (which are labelled as INST / AMP) are on right side of the chassis. NO tuner jack. It has a noticeably heavy aluminum chassis.
This pedal is PASSIVE -- therefore it is designed to NOT use a battery / to NOT use an adapter.
NO box / NO paperwork.
I am also including one new set of D'Addario EXL-110 light (gauge 10) electric guitar strings. Please let me know if you prefer D'Addario EXL-120 extra light (gauge 9) strings instead of the gauge 10 strings.
- The selling price will be $5 less if you do not want the strings.
- Please make an offer with a message if you do not need any of these items.
- You can also message me if you prefer that these details be edited in listing.

To cover myself - I put it's condition as VERY GOOD. But I personally feel that it's cosmetic condition is in between VG and Excellent shape (your opinion might differ).
This is a rare Ernie Ball volume pedal.
Great for collectors, for someone to use and / or both. Also great to give to someone as a gift.
The pedal was tested and it - overall - it works fine.
- NOTE: the POT is very slightly scratchy. I put Deox-It contact cleaner in the pot and it cleared out most - but not all - of the scratchiness.
- If you rock the treadle front to back and back to front slow you do not hear the scratchiness that much. But when you rock it back and forth fast - you hear it more - but it is not that loud.
- If you want Volume pedal that has absolutely NO scratchiness - then you should pass on this one.
- Please only purchase this pedal if you don't mind that it has the very slight scratchiness.
- NOTE: I'm testing out this pedal directly in the amp [using NO other effect(s)] with an electric guitar and in a quiet environment and with the guitar volume at 10 and the amp volume at about 4 to 5. So if you are using this pedal in a live environment (with a band) -- the very slight scratchiness might not be noticeable.
The AMP (out) / INST (in) JACKS are NOT scratchy.
It look great for it's age. It doesn't look like it was used much (for it's age). Details about it's condition are further down in the description.
I got this pedal in pre-owned (lightly used condition) about 25 years ago. It's condition was pretty much the way it is now. Aside from casually using it every so often (in a home environment) the first few months that I got it - I did not use it much afterwards. It's been in safe storeage in a box in closet in a pre-free / smoke- free home.
The only thing that I did to the pedal was - several months ago - I went over the top black foot grip piece with black shoe polish - so this grip piece look very clean. And this black shoe polish is very dry now - therefore - this pedal is fine to use.
It has the feet (I'm not sure it the feet are original - but they are very close to being the same style).

The aluminum chassis has some nicks, some scratches, & a few black markings here and there - nothing too serious. You can see most - but not all of these imperfections in the pictures.
The top black foot grip piece is fine.
The feet are fine / clean.. As I stated above - several month ago- I went over the top black foot grip piece with black shoe polish - so this grip piece look very clean and the black show this polish is very dry now. Therefore - this pedal is fine to use.
The Graphic is mostly fine. The left side of the outer black rectangle has a few tiny nicks in the black color & in / on the surface of the metal.
JACKS - AMP (output) and INST (input)
I took pictures of all sides of the pedal. And there is a close up picture of the information on the CLAROSTAT pot.
NOTE: There may be a few imperfections that I overlooked. There may be some imperfections that can be seen in person that do not appear in the pictures. And - there are some things show up in the pictures that are not visible in person - like glares.
