I am selling my Kalamazoo KG-2 Guitar Project, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan by Gibson around 1966. I bought this from a fellow in Texas and it came to me tastefully refinished, including the addition of a hand-painted red and blue rose on the lower bout. Includes the original pickguard in great condition, original tuners. original truss rod cover and original nut. The neck looks very straight with good frets and a truss rod.

I am also including two new Guild Surfliner single coil pickups and a vintage compensated and height adjustable bridge/tail that looks like it will work on this. I was going to rebuild this for myself but am moving on to other projects. Still needed are pots, wiring, a pickup switch, output jack and shoulder trap knobs.

I added some plastic tabs to the pickguard holes that will allow you, if you wish, to drill through them and secure the pickups. They could also be secured early Hofner/Kapa style with sturdy tape on the back. They fit snuggly into the holes.

Some tech notes:

Scale: 24.5

Length: 39 inches

Lower Bout Width: 12 inches

Body Depth: 1.5 inches

Nut Width: 1 19/32 inches

Neck Pickup Reading: 6.4

Middle Pickup Reading: 6.6

I am also including some vintage pickguard screws.

I’ve described this 60 year old guitar as best as I can with words and images, if you have any questions be sure to ask me before you buy.

Will pack professionally and ship quickly.
