Alright friends, here's a fine guitar for ya. Get the real deal for around the cost of an aged reissue.
1962 factory mono
Original plastic, knobs, guard, etc.
Original Centralab pots date to 1961
Original Black Beauty caps
Period correct grovers appear to be replacements for original wafflebacks, holes filled. (see photos)
No headstock or neck repairs.
Refinished and restored from very player grade condition by Kim Lafleur at Historic Makeovers, including removal and filling of a master volume near the treble f hole (pictured)
Recent refret with correct size wire has the guitar playing great. Note that a few of the inlays did take a beating in the refret (pictured).
Currently sporting a tonepros bridge. I have the original, but it is collapsed and not functional, will ship with the guitar (pictured along with historic makeovers certificate)
Replacement tailpiece, as this was originally a vibrola guitar. Vibrola holes filled.
Will ship with RS Guitarworks PAFs with aged gold covers. Currently sporting a set of Barney Kessel spaced PAFs that I will keep. Wiring has been spliced so the original pots have not seen excessive heat from the pickup changes.
Action is currently fantastic but the bridge is nearly as low as it can go. This is common on vibrola guitars.

Overall this is a fine player's instrument that I've thoroughly enjoyed playing live and recording with, but I just can't keep 'em all, as they say.
