Fender ST-62 Stratocaster Reissue MIJ 1985-1986
Excellent example of the highly regarded Fujigen-era MIJ Fender guitars. Serial number B010819 dates this to 1985-1986, placing it among the earliest and most collectible of the Japanese reissue Stratocasters.
Spec'd to vintage '62 Stratocaster spec throughout — rosewood fretboard, 11-screw pickguard, aged cream pickup covers, vintage 6-screw tremolo bridge. Locking tuner upgrade installed by previous owner, easily reversible if you prefer stock.
These mid-80s MIJ Fenders are widely considered to rival or exceed the US-made guitars of the same era in build quality and consistency. Fujigen was also building guitars for other major brands at the time and their craftsmanship speaks for itself.
Electronics have some age-related grime on the pots — typical for a 40-year-old guitar and easily cleaned with DeoxIT. Tremolo cavity cover plate is missing.
Plays and sounds like a vintage Strat should. A genuine piece of Fender history at a fraction of the vintage US guitar price.
