Up for sale is a Fender American Vintage ’62 Reissue Telecaster Andy Summers Tribute – Ultimate Edition, professionally built and relic’d by The Painted Player Company in the UK.
This is the higher-end Ultimate Edition version, based on a real Fender American Vintage ’62 Reissue Telecaster, combining Fender USA build quality with the classic Andy Summers-inspired modifications and full heavy relic treatment.
This guitar was built as a tribute to Andy Summers’ famous heavily modified early-’60s Telecaster, the instrument associated with many of the iconic tones of The Police, including songs like “Roxanne,” “Walking on the Moon,” and “Message in a Bottle.”
The guitar has already been professionally relic’d as part of the build. The finish checking, wear, aging, dings, and distressing are intentional and part of the tribute design.

Quick Reference Guide
1: Phase switch – sets both pickups “out of phase” when switched on while the 3-way pickup selector is set to the mid-position.
2: Pre-Amp on/off switch – ensure that this switch is set to the “off” position when the guitar is not in use.
3: Pre-Amp control – to select “true bypass” passive control, click the push/pull pot “up.” To access Overdrive, click the pot “down,” ensuring that the pre-amp selector switch is set to the “on” position when doing so.
Note: The guitar’s sound will cut off if the pre-amp is switched off while the pot is “down,” offering a “kill-switch” option.

The guitar is in excellent functional condition. All visible finish wear, checking, aging, and distressing are intentional relic work completed as part of the Painted Player tribute build.
