Short Description:

Spruce and Mahogany in Perfect Harmony

What We Think:

The Eastman MD404 is a traditional A-style mandolin that offers a warm, woody voice with excellent balance and responsiveness. Its solid spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides produces a rounder, more open character than a typical maple-bodied mandolin, making it especially appealing for folk, old-time, Celtic, and singer-songwriter settings. The oval soundhole enhances this warmth, delivering a smooth, rich tone with impressive sustain and depth. Finished in high-gloss black with classic ivoroid binding and pearl appointments, it combines timeless style with dependable craftsmanship. Warm, expressive, and full of vintage-inspired character, the MD404 is a mandolin that invites players to slow down and savor every note.
