The Les Paul Model remains an eternal dream for guitarists and is considered the epitome of electric guitars. The original Les Paul, produced from 1952 to 1960, was discontinued, and production shifted to the SG model in the 1960s. After a re-release in 1968 and the first reissue model, it underwent a model change to the "Deluxe" with the adoption of mini-humbuckers. The Les Paul Deluxe continued to be produced until around 1985, undergoing various specification changes due to factory relocation and other factors. This particular instrument is a mahogany neck model from the early 1970s. It features a volute-equipped 3-piece mahogany neck, a 3-piece maple top/laminated ("pancake") body, so-called "Stickered Numbered" Mini-Humbuckers, Kluson 320VP "GIBSON DELUXE" tuners, an ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, gold reflector knobs, and chrome-plated hardware. Weighing in at 4.34kg, this "Les Paul Deluxe" is relatively not too heavy, yet its robust and solid construction delivers a tight, resonant sound. The mini-humbucker provides a bright, sparkling tone, while the 70s-style flat-top brass saddles contribute to a thick sustain. The rear pickup offers a sweet, full sound from the neck position, and a gritty, sticky Gibson tone. With its well-balanced range characteristic of this era, it possesses a unique 70s character while still fully embodying the essence of a "Les Paul." While there are minor scratches, paint chips, and weather checking commensurate with its age, it exudes the dignified atmosphere of a vintage Gibson. There is a crack in the pickguard bracket, but it has been properly repaired and is fully functional. Additionally, the end-side strap pin has been moved, but this has also been carefully filled. Only two of the potentiometers show a date of 1985, suggesting they were refurbished at an earlier date. The deep red cherry sunburst finish, enhanced by the moderately aged lacquer clear coat, is further enhanced by its battle-worn appearance, which only adds to its exceptional coolness. The neck is in good condition, including the truss rod adjustment. There are no noticeable dents in the frets, and it has a low action setting that makes it easy to play. This is a great-sounding and playable guitar. Please come and see for yourself. Original hardshell case included.
