Modeled after Doug’s original 1987 NS-2, the Doug Wimbish Euro 4 is designed to take on any genre with tonal authority and maximum versatility. This bass was modeled after his original 1987 Spector NS-2 and tweaked to his exacting standards. The limited edition version is relic'ed to match the wear on his original instrument.

Designed to Doug’s exacting specifications

The Spector Doug Wimbish Signature Euro 4 electric bass features a fast hard rock maple through neck and matching body wings for a supremely comfortable playing experience. A slick 24-fret fingerboard facilitates high-speed maneuverability, while a brass nut and Spector custom bridge/tailpiece provide optimal solidity. In the engine room, custom-voiced EMG DW Signature pickups join forces with a Spector Legacy 2-band preamp, giving you maximum tonal versatility and the ability to drive long cable runs and complex processing chains without a hint of noise.

Powerful EMG P/J pickups

The Doug Wimbish Signature Euro 4 is loaded with a pair of powerful custom-voiced EMG DW pickups that are fitted in a tone-enhancing reverse-P/J configuration. This layout gives you the low-end punch from the split-coil EMG P-style pickup in the middle position, along with the aggressive growl from the J-style single-coil at the bridge. You’ll notice that the P pickup’s coils are in opposite positions from the standard arrangement to maximize low-end articulation while rounding out notes played on the high strings. This makes total sense in a P/J-equipped bass, as you can dial in as much high end as you want with the bridge pickup and the active EQ. Mix up your signature blend, and you’re ready to rock.
