Letting go of my beloved Gretsch Country Gentleman bass. It's a truly incredible instrument, with an acoustic quality which makes it a joy to play, even without plugging in. The electronics were gone over, and one new pickup installed, but the famous Mamie Minch, who used to run the repairs at Retrofret, in Brooklyn.

I have it listed as Good, to make sure it really falls within Reverb's technical description, but I would say that it is in great condition for an instrument of it's age, and it plays and sounds wonderful. That being said, it does have some crumbling binding that can occur after so many years. My luthier, who also loves this instrument & says he's never seen the bass version, says the truss rod is good & that there is plenty of wood to work with on the bridge, should you want to lower the action, though I prefer it where it is. She's strung with Labella flatwounds

You really don't see these often & it's the only one for sale, I believe...she's a special bass!
