Hohner of Germany was the first licensee of the iconic Steinberger headless guitars. They're superior in sound and hardware to the current Spirit models by Steinberger.

This particular instrument, manufactured in 1986, has been enhanced by:

- the notorious volume knob that interferes with your wrist has been removed and instead a dual concentric volume/tone control installed in place of the tone control. So, you get the best of all worlds - a tone and volume control sharing the same shaft and free wrist movement.

- The guitar features genuine EMG active pickups in the HSS configuration, not the "licensed" passive models.

- An adapter was installed so that you can use regular guitar strings, not the double-ball required by the original design.

All electronics and mechanics works beautifully as they should, and the frets have miniscule wear - really nothing to talk about.

There're couple of small, purely cosmetic chipped paint spots, both in inconspicuous places, and discretely covered by black acrylic, so they're not visible from couple of feet away.
