Benson Portable Distortion 424 MKII

Benson's take on the Portastudio cassette preamp sound! The 424 MKII Preamp takes it’s inspiration from the raw and grimy distortion texture and broad EQ control from a classic cassette 4-track recorder preamp.

We’ve expanded the versatility of this circuit by adding a bypassable buffer that drastically changes the gain and character of the pedal. This helps the pedal play well with high-impedance guitar signal, making it capable of all kinds of sounds…clean boosting with subtle EQ, a treble boost, warm and dark textures, and all-out chaotic grind. Bypass the buffer to hear the faithful recreation of the sound of plugging an electric guitar directly into the original.
