A 2019 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition NAMM ‘63 Telecaster Relic finished in Shell Pink with a matching headstock — and according to the original Fender Custom Shop floor traveler, this was a custom ordered color option. As far as we have been able to determine, this appears to be a true one-of-one spec combination.
The moment you open the case, it feels less like a production Fender and more like a boutique custom-built instrument that just happens to wear a Fender logo.
The lightly aged Shell Pink finish paired with the matching headstock, dark AAA rosewood board and tasteful lacquer checking gives this guitar an incredibly refined look in person. It has that perfect “custom color under the bed for 60 years” aesthetic Fender Custom Shop chases at its best.
The neck is outstanding — a comfortable 63 Strat Style “C” carve with a rift sawn maple neck and round lam AAA rosewood fretboard that feels broken-in immediately. Resonant acoustically, lightweight feeling in hand and extremely lively unplugged.
Factory relic work is subtle and tasteful throughout with beautiful lacquer checking across the body and headstock.
There is some light medium fretwear but overall the frets still have plenty of life left!
