Martin / 1980 D-18
[Comment from the person in charge: Hoshino]
This 1980 D-18 possesses a richness and depth that only aged wood can offer, something not found in current D-18 models. And it also has the light and tight attack characteristic of mahogany.
These two elements coexist in exquisite balance in this 1980 D-18.
Over 40 years, the wood has naturally aged, and the way the harmonics blend is as natural as a vintage microphone, instantly conveying a light, dry tone that only mahogany can produce. It delivers a core midrange and a gentle sound.
While D-18s from the 1970s and earlier continue to skyrocket in price, the 1980s models are still just within reach as "affordable vintage."
If you're looking for a balance of sound, quality, and price, now is the perfect time to choose one.
If you're looking for a depth that modern sounds lack, or if you want to expand your expressive capabilities as a player with a vintage mahogany guitar, then this 1980 D-18 is truly a guitar that will let you hear "what's beyond."
