Up for sale is a 1996 Fender Jag-Stang, made in Japan during the original production run of Kurt Cobain’s signature model. This is an early MIJ (Made in Japan) example, part of the first generation of Jag-Stangs produced by Fender in collaboration with Nirvana’s iconic frontman.
Designed by Kurt Cobain himself, the Jag-Stang combines elements of the Jaguar and Mustang into a short-scale, highly playable offset guitar built for alternative tones, surfy textures, and gritty distortion. These original Japanese models have become increasingly sought after as collectors and players recognize their quality and connection to 1990s alternative rock history.
