Gibson Les Paul Junior 2001 - Dark Tobacco burst/ RARE/ Leo Quan "Badass" T.O.M/Wraparound bridge, that is intonatable, unlike stock wraparounds
Very rare, hard to find vintage 2001 Gibson les paul junior guitar. Has a Leo Quan "Badass" bridge that is 100% intonatable! Wrap arounds are not intonatable. Has an orange drop cap and Puretone jack.
Blows away my past $4,000 Billy Armstrong juniors. Best Junior you can get your hands on in my opinion. I originally bought it from Drew Abbott the guitar player from the Silver Bullet band, on consignment in a shop in Michigan. No structural damage whatsoever and looks like a new guitar, has a couple cosmetic blemishes on the very back of the neck but nothing major, or conspicuous. It only has a very very shallow and tiny thin finish crack near headstock, But again, there's nothing structurally amiss, or else I would not sell it. There are no cracks in the neck pocket or anything crazy like that.
If it wasn't for taxes I would not be selling this guitar, the price is firm and more than fair. You will not find another Junior like this one. This doesnt feel like a toy in your hands, they feel like Les Paul standards but lighter. Sustains forever, and nothing sounds like an intonated Junior. Great with any over drive or distortion pedal. It's been professionally set up from top to bottom. Perfect smooth frets, truss rod is perfect. Never gigged by me. I can't promise that Drew Abbott didn't gig it, but it does not appear to be. It literally looks flawless on the front, and the back of the body looks flawless. Another thing I love about this guitar is it has a gloss finish, not satin. It's also darker than most juniors and not very light colored, I love the darker ones.
And the Rosewood fretboard is real Indian rosewood, not the stuff they are using nowadays. You will absolutely love this guitar If you love Juniors, and it comes in a dedicated black Gator Lp Junior case, that is only for juniors. This is a steal. A brand new crappier Junior costs well over $1,000, so you are getting every penny out of this axe. I get compliments on it all the time by my friends and acquaintances that see it and hear it. A wonderful collector's item.
If you were going to own a Gibson jr, I can't think of a better one that you can have other than a original from the 1950s and this one feels and sounds very much like an original, the only difference is it has a little bit thinner of the neck, but again it's not a toy, it's solid and thick, great for small hands like mine. The P90s they used 26 years ago in these sounds so much better than the ones today. In fact, the original P90 in this guitar isn't even loud compared to all the others I've had. I wouldn't swap out this P90 for any other pickup, no matter who the company is and not If they even gave it to me for free. If you pass this guitar up, for another Junior just to save a few bucks, you're going to miss out on something very special. I hate to sell it but it is what it is. If my circumstances change, I will certainly delist it and no longer sell it, as I said, this is a true collector's item. They absolutely do not make these guitars like this any longer with the special tone woods, or match the ruggedness. Just an awesome guitar that I can't quit bragging about.
