Up for FINAL SALE from my acoustic-only collection is a beautiful 2012 Martin Custom Shop D-35 featuring a 3AAA quarter-sawn Madagascar rosewood body with a Cocobolo center wedge and a premium Italian Alpine moon spruce top. Only 50 were made and available world-wide, this guitar showcases the very best tone woods and craftsmanship Martin’s historic, legendary Custom Shop has to offer! Add to this gorgeous build highly flamed koa bindings, Adirondack scalloped bracing, fine ebony fingerboard and bridge, and Cocobolo/Madagascar headplate, this exceptional guitar is a visual work of art and sonically and has a beautiful, unique tone all its own. These are truly best-in-class tone woods and I'm personally a huge fan of BOTH Madagascar rosewood and Cocobolo RW tone, having had three other custom acoustics built w/Madagascar RW and many say it's next best to Brazilian and becoming harder to come by due to drought and high demand. This guitar really is the BEST of all tone woods combined in one single instrument! Note: There's a similar CS Martin custom shop build except with Brazilian center wedge going for $5699, save $$$$ for substituting Cocobolo CW instead!
This instrument is all original plus a $300 M1 LR Baggs sound hole pickup (included in the case and super EZ to install again), making it equally suited for stage and studio. It’s in excellent condition (9.5/10) with a few super tiny pinhead dents on the top if you stare under the microscope and slight fading where the M1 pickup joins the sound hole edge on top (see last pic), otherwise showing only very light play wear. The original Geib style 545 cabernet hardshell case is included in excellent condition. Lastly, professionally set-up this year by the best around - Southeast Guitars ($150).
