1962-1965 Epiphone Century — Kalamazoo Era, All Original, Original Case
Here is a beautiful example of a Gibson-era Kalamazoo Epiphone Century, serial number 385170, produced at the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan between 1962 and 1965.
The Epiphone Century is one of the most iconic thinline archtops of the era — a single-pickup hollowbody with warm, woody tone that sits perfectly between a jazz box and a rock and roll guitar. This example features the classic cherry finish, single P-90 style pickup, original trapeze tailpiece with diamond cutout, cream button Kluson tuners, rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, and the original cream pickguard. All hardware is present, correct, and original.
The guitar plays and sounds exactly as a Kalamazoo-era Epiphone should — warm, resonant, and full of character. The cherry finish has aged beautifully, developing that deep amber-red patina that only comes with 60 years of honest life.
Comes with the original Epiphone branded hardshell case with blue plush interior — a significant find in itself.
Condition notes: Light surface checking and scratching throughout consistent with age. One notable wear spot on the back of the neck, visible in photos. No cracks, no repairs, no refin. All original.
Asking $2,600. Open to reasonable offers.
