The Epiphone 2000 Les Paul Special is a Korean-made electric guitar built during the era when Epiphone's production shifted to Korea, producing instruments known for solid construction and good value. You get a Les Paul Special body shape—single-cutaway, flat top, no carved maple cap like the Standard models. The body is mahogany, the neck is mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard, and it features a bolt-on neck construction rather than the set neck of higher-end Les Pauls. The pickups are two Epiphone open-coil humbuckers, controlled by volume and tone knobs and a 3-way toggle switch. The hardware includes a stopbar tailpiece and Tune-o-matic bridge.

Plug it in and you're getting that classic Les Paul Special vibe—bright, punchy, and direct. The bolt-on neck gives it a slightly different feel and resonance than a set-neck model, but it's a reliable, workhorse instrument. The dual humbuckers cover everything from clean rhythm to overdriven leads, and the simple control layout makes it easy to dial in your sound. Korean-built Epiphones from this period are respected for their consistency and playability, making this a solid player's guitar or a great mod platform.
