Gibson Custom Shop’s craftsmen have selected a hand-picked mismatched flame maple top, just like the original vintage examples, celebrating the natural irregularity that makes these guitars so rare and desirable.
Built to 1959 Les Paul Standard specifications, this Custom Shop model pairs a lightweight solid mahogany body with a carved maple cap and a vintage-correct set neck, assembled using hide-glue construction for enhanced resonance and sustain. Unpotted Custombucker pickups deliver open, articulate PAF-style tone, while the historically accurate Golden Poppy Burst finish captures the vibrant character of the original instrument.
The Murphy Lab Heavy Aged treatment gives this guitar the unmistakable look and feel of a well-played vintage classic, with deep lacquer checking, authentic finish wear, and naturally aged hardware throughout.
