World-renowned for his genre-defying arrangements, harmonic wizardry, and boundless musical imagination, Jacob Collier continues to expand the creative boundaries of acoustic guitar with the Taylor Academy 22e 5-String. Designed in collaboration with Collier himself, this unique Grand Concert model is voiced for his signature DAEAD tuning, adding an extra string and unlocking deeply musical chordal textures, colorful voicings, and extended range — all within a compact, approachable body shape.
The heart of this guitar is a solid walnut top that offers a dry, woody midrange response with plenty of harmonic warmth and sparkle. Paired with layered walnut back and sides, the result is a full yet focused acoustic voice that shines whether you’re fingerpicking, exploring altered tunings, or crafting intricate melodic lines. The short 24 7/8" scale length, smoked eucalyptus fretboard, and Taylor's signature beveled armrest contribute to a supremely comfortable playing experience — especially for extended sessions or creative experimentation.
Outfitted with Fishman Sonitone GT2 electronics for plug-and-play convenience and housed in a structured gig bag, this signature 5-string model is perfect for Jacob Collier fans, acoustic innovators, and anyone looking to break out of the standard 6-string mold. Available now at Haggerty’s Music.
