The Gibson Les Paul Collector’s Choice #16 “Red Eye” (2013) is one of the most sought-after replicas from Gibson’s legendary Collector’s Choice series. With this strictly limited edition, Gibson pays tribute to an exceptional original 1959 Les Paul Standard, which earned the nickname “Red Eye” among collectors due to its striking grain and the characteristic “red eyes” visible in the maple top.

The instrument was recreated in the Custom Shop with the highest level of attention to detail. It is built around a lightweight, carefully selected mahogany body paired with a hand-picked figured maple top, whose spectacular flame pattern is perfectly highlighted by the transparent burst finish. The set mahogany neck with the historic ’59 profile provides a substantial playing feel and excellent resonance, while the rosewood fingerboard with classic trapezoid inlays completes the authentic vintage look.

Sonically, the Red Eye impresses with two specially calibrated Custom Bucker pickups that faithfully reproduce the coveted late-’50s PAF sound. The result is a dynamic, open tone with strong midrange presence, warm sustain, and clear articulation—ideal for everything from bluesy crunch to powerful rock leads

The instrument will be shipped in the original hardcase.

Apart from a few possible minor changes, this guitar is original.
