Ibanez JEM7-BSB Steve Vai Signature 1997 Made in Japan
This guitar has become very rare and it’s probably the best Jem i’ve ever tried or owned.
The finish is not lacquered, just stained which makes it age like fine wine. No cracks or any issues.
This is currently the only available guitar of this model in the US.
A push/pull knob was installed in the tone for a Neck pickup coil split (giving you a strat tone).
Currently setup with 10-46 strings.
The case is in decent shape but it’s missing one of the latches.
Please let me know if you have questions or want more pictures.
The JEM7 features an American basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fretboard with screw-head position markers. Components include a pair of DiMarzio Breed humbucking pickups flanking a DiMarzio ISCV2 single-coil mounted in a brushed aluminium pickguard, a Lo Pro Edge double locking tremolobridge and Gotoh tuning machines.
A previous model bearing the same name was offered in the late 1980's as the JEM7 RB.
The JEM7 BSB had a production run of six plus years before being discontinued after 2001.
