Clearing out old unused gear, so selling a vintage TASCAM 34B Reel to Reel 4 Track Recorder.
Physically in great shape. Tested and working...see video for some examples. To get it to show all 4 tracks individually, I plugged in and recorded the video using the headphones for volume. It sounds much better when run through an actual stereo unit, but this way you could see every track that was recorded.
It has a new belt, a new pinch roller and has been lubricated so everything is working as it should. As I accidentally ordered 2 pinch rollers for this one, so it comes with an extra/new pinch roller. It also comes with a pair of Teac TZ-512 hub adapters for the larger reels.
Known quirks:
- About half of one of the feet on the bottom is broken off
- The head cover does work, but the interior plastic on the right side is broken. Works fine when lifting, but when closing you have to push in on the right side to keep it in place.
- Track 4 output has a dead spot in it about 7-8 if it's pushed in just a little bit. When using the knob, it seems to work fine when you pull it out a bit while turning and then the dead spot is gone. This is on the end of the video where I just turned the knob or pulled it out a bit when turning...
Due to the size and weight of this unit, currently only selling for pickup. I am located in Lincoln, NE.
Selling as-is.
